9 Sure Ways To Effectively Market Your Products

There are many challenges one can face while trying to market a new product. Even the existing products most times faces some "ups" and "downs". This is normal especially when the market is highly competitive, bringing in a new product into the market becomes challenging.
There may be some reasons for this. Maybe, you don't even know your customers which is very important.

In this post, we will be looking into how we can effectively market a product and make customers to keep asking for more.

How To Market A Product Effectively

1. Establish A Good Relationship With Your Customers: This is very important if you really want to get customers and as well keep them. You have to understand your customers and they will also understand you. This may be difficult for you if you are not social, but you need to be social. This is because serving and satisfying the public is a very difficult thing to do, and in business you are serving the public and therefore need to "friend-able".
There are some certain habits you need to exhibit to establish good relationship with your customers which are:

  • Be cheerful
  • Be friendly and respect your customers
  • Be tolerant
  • Be willing to assist your customers in the little way you can
  • Never be rude to a customer even if the customer is at fault
  • Never expose any customer's personal information
  • Be grateful

2. Always Collect A Customer's Contact Details: This is where most people make mistake. They neglect their customer contacts which is very important. You may wish to inform a customer about a new product, reduction in the price of a product, a new offer or even a promo or bonus, without the customer's contact details, it may be difficult to do.
A good customer contact form should have the following in addition to any other info:

  • Name

  • E-mail Address

  • Phone Number

  •   Address

  • Birthday

Don't forget to wish your customers a happy birthday on their birthdays, this shows that you really care about them.

3. Advertise Your Product: This is great way to let people know about a product. Paid adverts makes sense and increase the number of customers you currently have now. It also does not only increase the purchase of a product, it also exposes your business to the world. But before opting for paid advert, it is important a proper budgeting is done so that you don't lose at the long run.
There are many media  which you can advertise your product and get buyers. They are:

  • Facebook
  • Google AdWords
  • Local newspaper
  • Online Stores
  • Blogs And Website E.T.C

4. Give Discount: Discount propels buyers to buy your product. It indicate that a product is selling at a discount price and may soon go back to its normal price and buyers will start purchasing the product with a view that it is a nice product that is selling at the current price because it is on promo and the price will go even more higher when the promo ends. You can give as high as 50% , 75% , 25%, 10% or 5% discount to attract buyers to buy the product.

6. Identify Your Competitors: This is very important if you really want to make it in business. There is no business with 0% competition. Your ability to identify your competitors makes you wax stronger in the business. You will find out what they are doing right that you ain't doing, there marketing strategies, there new market discoveries, their customers and their target customers. With these knowledge, you can add more meaning to it and apply into your own business.

7. Provide Not Just A Product But A Value: What are you marketing?  Is it just a product or a value? Now, buyers like buying products that give them value for their money, not just any product. You won't be happy buying a shoe of N21000 and it gets spoilt within 3 days. That is because what you bought was actually a product and not a value. Buyers will always keep coming when they realize you are selling a product with value.

8. Be Appreciative: Yes, you need to be appreciative in business if you really want to market your product. How can you be appreciative?
Always send your customer an e-mail or a text message thanking him/her for buying your product asking they should call again.
Appreciate your existing customers if they bring in a new buyer for you. You can give them a percentage of what the new buyer bought or you deduct a certain percentage when they call again.

8. Don't Give Excuse: Some people are fond of giving excuses. They will always blame one thing or the other for their own incompetency. In business, there is no room for excuses. You are expected to be up and doing. You don't have any excuse of running short of your product, late delivery of order, inability to deliver an order e.t.c. All these are show of incompetency in business and they should be avoided. They only create a bad impression of yourself and business before your buyer and gives you a negative review.

9. Build Partnership: Partnership is very important in business and market in. With partnership, a journey of 10years can be achieved in 1year. If you partner with those who are ahead if you in business, you can easily get to where they are without much stress. So don't forget to partner.

How To Setup A Computer Business Center

Computer business is gradually becoming a trending business in the society. It is even becoming more serious now that every paperwork need to be done using the computer. This increases the usefulness and need for a computer business centre.

Another good thing about this business is that all you need know to start is the experience and capital. To acquire the experience, you will need to spend 6months - 1 year in a computer business centre. But if you just wish to start up the business even without experience, all you need do is to setup the business centre and employ someone who has the experience to run it for you. Based on your negotiations with the person, you will be receiving regular returns from the person which may be daily, weekly or monthly.

Also, with the way our educational sector is growing, you must have a basic knowledge of computer before going into the high institution. This can be seen from the fact JAMB and Post-UTME are written via the computer and you must also register for both examinations over the internet.
Even the results of the aforementioned examinations are checked and printed out using the computer.

Now, there are important factors to consider when setting up a computer business centre of which are:
Location
Location is a very important factor in computer business if you really wants to make good profit from it. Take for instance, if you should locate this business in a rural area, the profit will be low to the ones in the urban areas.
Even in the urban areas, you don't need to locate your business in any place you wish, remember, this is a computer business and where the services are needed are mostly places where there are offices, schools and heavy business areas. You can't locate a business centre in a residential area.
When you must have found a good shop in a good location, then you pay the store rent which varies base on location. You may pay for a period of 6 months, 1 year or 2 years depending on your negotiation with the landlord.

Furnishing Your Office/Centre
After finally acquiring a good office, next thing is to furnish it. The choice of the furniture depends on the start-up capital. You may decide to use either a wooden chair and table or a plastic chair and table. You may also decide to floor the ground with tile, carpet or German floor but tile is the best because it is more attractive and durable than the others. You will also need ceiling fan or air-conditioner.

Purchase Of Equipment:
Now, there are some equipment you will need when done with the furnishings. These equipment may be bought brand new or as a used one. It all depends on your budget. It is always advisable to get  new equipments if you have the capital.

Equipment needed for the computer business centre are:
  • Photocopying Machine
  • Desktops and laptops
  • Spiral Binding Machine
  • Laminating Machine
  • Scanner
  • Staplers
  • Paper cutter
  • Photo printer
  • Generator
  • Others are:
  • Papers
  • Inks
  • Films

We will be taking a look at each of the above mentioned equipment as we proceed.

Businesses that are done in a business centre
There are many business that can be carried out by a business centre. They are categorized into two categories, offline work and online work.

OFFLINE WORK
  • Typesetting And Printing:

This is the commonest task that is been carried out by the business centre. With the knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, access and power point, these task becomes an easy thing to do. Also the knowledge of coral draw may be needed if the work involves designing. The charge for this service differs in some places and it depends on if the printout will be black and white or coloured. If it is to be in black and white, the service charge is N50-N100 per page depending on whether their is power supply by power holding or generator is been used. If the work is to be coloured, then it will cost between N150-N250.

  • Photocopying

This is where you make most of your profit from. After typesetting and printing, you may need to produce more copies of the printout. These is done using the photocopier because it consumes less ink compared to the printer thereby reducing  the cost of production. Therefore, you may need to provide 1000 copies of a printout at the rate of N5 or N10. After the job, you may earn up to N7000.

  • Laminating:

This can be incorporated into a business centre to make more profit. The service charge is usually N100 or less depending on the quantity. The higher the quantity, the lesser the price. Once you have gotten the laminating machine, you can incorporate this aspect of computer business and increase profit.
  • Scanning

This is also an offline work which costs up to N100 per page depending on the volume. What may be scanned may be a passport, a document or anything that can fit into the scanner.
Passport Photography: In most business centres, passport photography is carried out. They charge as much as N350-N500 for this service. It is crucial you take passport photographs if you wish to do online registration because most times a passport is needed to complete the registration in which case the client will take a passport photograph.
  • Computer Training:

This is also a good aspect of the computer business centre services. Here, you train students on the use of computer and its application and also the use of computer equipments. The program may run for 3 months, 6 months or 1 year depending on how you want it. The charge is between N15000 to N20000 for a duration of 3-4 months.

  • Recharge Card Printing Business:
Oh, what relates  a computer business centre and a recharge card printing business? I know that maybe the question you may wish to ask. Don't worry, I will answer you. The basic requirements for recharge card printing service are a computer, a printer and a recharge card printing software. By opening a business centre, you have already made most of the equipments for this available. Then what stops you from investing in this business as well and making cool cash from it? Yourself. Join me in my our post where I will be discussing every thing about recharge card printing business and how to make a living out of it.

ONLINE WORK
  • Online Registration And Checking Of Result:
This one pays well as the minimum you can charge for this service is N500 and can go up to N1500 depending on the kind of job. I know of a friend who averages over N15000 daily during post-UTME registration. So this one is very nice aspect of the computer business. All you need do is to be connected to the internet. You can register students for JAMB and post-UTME exams, you can also register the public for police recruitment, naval recruitment, army recruitment e.t.c. Now, when the result is released, you can also charge a fee for checking and printing out the result.

  • Opening and printing out from e-mail:
This is also a way of earning in your business centre. People at one point or the other may need to printout information from their email. Yes, you may ask why one will need to access his email in a business centre while it can be easily accessed with a mobile phone. It becomes important to check your email using the business centre when you need to print out the information contained in the email. I remember few years back when I was helping a pastor to print out information sent by his church headquarters  into his email twice a week. The information was necessary for running the church weekly activities. I charge him N200 and above depending on the volume of the information. So, there are needs why people check their email in the business centre and by incorporating this into your business, you will see more reasons

  • Job Application:

Is true you can apply for a job using your Android phone, iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry or Windows phones but  do you know that you need to visit a business centre to scan your CV and other credentials if  needed for the job application? So the computer business centres are never running out of market despite the ever growing technological invasion. The service charge for this business is determined by the owner of the centre. Remember, you will be making use of the internet and you will be scanning as well and possibly be printing out. So, this services have their separate charges which on simple addition will give you an idea of how much to charge.

  • Online Payment And Purchasing:
Most times, people wants to make payment online and the payment portal keeps rejecting their payment card because they are using the wrong card while others don't even how to go about. So, if you have an eligible payment card like master card, you can use it to purchase stuffs for your clients who may need them after which you may charge a fee.

  • Cyber Cafe Services :
Though this aspect of the computer business is no longer booming as it used to due to the fact that people can now access the internet using their phone or laptops at the comfort of their homes. But there is no harm giving it a try. It will be productive if you provide a fast internet browser and cheaper subscription fee. In most places, 2hrs cost N250, 1hrs cost 150 and 30mins cost N70. So you can still give  it a try.

Equipments Needed For A Computer Business Centre And Their Approximate Cost
  • Photocopying Machine:

They come in different sizes. The brand new one of the large size cost over N100000 while the medium size cost between N60000-N70000. It is more preferable to get new printer as old ones tends to become faulty more often.

  • Computer set:

The monitor normally comes in different sizes. It is preferable to buy a flat screen monitor of "18" inches. The system unit can be bought together with the monitor or even together. You can get a monitor together with a system unit for N25000-N40000 depending on your location.

  • Printers:

Printer are of two types, the black and white printer and the colored printer. The HP laser jet printer costs between N19000-N22000 while the desk jet 3in1 colored printer costs between N12000-N15000. The 3in1 colored printer can be used for printing, photocopying and scanning. It is advised you used this printer for colored printing and scanning only so that it can last longer.

  • New Laptop:

You may be needing a new laptop to run your business centre. This will go a long way to save you time and money. it will save you time when you are overwhelmed with jobs in the office. You can take some of the work home to do on your laptop. It saves you money in the sense that in cases of power failure, you can use the system to the create, design and edit the job after which you can switch on the generator to print the job. A good laptop can be bought for N60000-N90000.

  • Spiral Binding Machine :

This machine could be bought for N10000-N15000. The price varies based on location.

  • Laminating Machine : This machine costs about N12000-N15000 though prices, differ based on location.
  • Staplers And paper cutter: They both can be bought for  N3000-N5000 depending on the size and location.

  • Hiti Photo Printer
This costs between N40000-N50000. Make sure it is the original one with long lasting battery.

  • Generator
A medium sized generator can be used to power the business centre and may cost between N40000-N50000.

Others include: scanner, A4 paper, inks, cartridges, softwares e.t.c

Profitability And Return On Investment:
The business is a profitable one and your profitability depends on your location and the areas into which you have invested into the business. You also need to be good at what you do to make enough money from the business. At the onset, you may be earning N3000-N5000 from this business but as time goes on, you can be making over N15000 daily.

In Summary, to start a computer business centre is not really a big deal. With a computer set, printer and photocopier you can set off and as time goes on, you can acquire all you need and expand your business.
Now, in charging for your services, you do not need to be static. You can charge cheaper when there is power supply.
There may not be any need to start with internet services since there is no rush for such services nowadays.
If you don't have enough money to buy brand new equipment, you can purchase second hand materials but be careful of what you buy and if possible, buy with guarantee.

How To Setup A Poultry Farm For Broiler And Egg Production

Setting up a poultry farm is really a tasking thing to do. No wonder most people who have lot of money to invest normally consults someone else to do that for them. In today's post, we will be talking about how to set up a poultry farm by yourself. This will save you a lot of cost though it is still advisable you meet the right people before venturing into this business. You need to pay visits to several poultry farms, establish a good relationship with owners or managers and learn from their experience. Remember, nobody knows it all and everyday we learn, so don't see yourself as having known all about poultry business after reading this post, but rather take a step further by going to farms and seeing how the things which we will be discussing here are been carried out.
Another issue of concern here is that the cost of materials and other things mentioned here is only an approximation. It is advised you take a step by moving to your immediate environment, get to know the cost of these things and compare it with the cost in other places. These will show that you're really serious about this business.
Finding out the cost will also give you a clearer understanding of how much you will be investing into this business and your initial start up capital.
For the purpose of unambiguity, we will be focusing on setting up a poultry farm for egg production(layers rearing) and meat production(broilers rearing). If you don't know the different areas to invest in poultry business, then you need to visit our previous post on introduction into poultry business. Remember, you can invest in these two areas if you have the resources to do so but I will still advice you start with one and venture into other areas as your poultry business grow.

What Will You Need For Your Poultry Setup:
  • Land
  • Poultry House Construction or building
  • Feed And Day-old-chicks Or Point-Of-Lay Birds
  • Poultry Equipment
  • Vaccination
  • Documentation And Effective Management
  • Marketing

Now, we will looking at each of these factors extensively with an aim of giving  you an idea of what it really takes to set up a poultry. Are you ready? Take a cup of coffee and relax while we set off.
Land:
Land is an essential commodity in offline business. This is no business that goes on in space unless you have been there to find out. Land is actually needed in poultry farming because you build your poultry farm on land. This land may be rented or purchased. It all depends on your resources.
In poultry business, it is best you buy land in rural areas. This is because of some factors:
  • Affordability: land in rural areas are highly affordable compared to urban areas. In Lagos and Ogun states, lands sells for N400,000-N600,000 in rural areas. In Imo and Abia states, lands sells for N200,000-N400,000 in rural areas. From the figure above, land is the most capital intensive factor to consider in poultry business setup, so if already have one, it will save a lot of cost.
  • Pollution: In the poultry business, there are two forms of pollution that is common, noise pollution and air pollution. This is not tolerable in the urban areas due to Government policy. That's why it is advised you get a land in the rural area to run this business where there won't be any attacks by neighbours and the government.
  • Cost of labour: The cost of labour in rural areas is much more cheaper than in urban areas. So this should also be the reason why you should site your poultry in rural area.

Poultry Housing Construction: Having acquired land to setup your poultry up your poultry business, the next agenda to consider is the construction of the poultry farm. There are different poultry layout and design but there are three most commonly used ones. These are:
  • Free range or roam system: In this case, the birds are allowed to roam about in search of food. They fend for themselves and save the farmer the cost of feeding. They are not paid much attention to and can easily be lost by stealing, disease, hunger, or even killed by a predator. It is not advisable to make use of these system if you wish to venture into commercial poultry business because of the many shortcomings.
  • Deep litter method: This is similar to the free range in the sense that birds are allowed to roam about but in this case, in an enclosed area. The floor is usually covered with  saw dust, this helps in reducing cracking of eggs and also makes removal of waste easy. The faeces are usually removed in intervals of 5-7 days. The faeces can be sold as manure to farmers. It is not as expensive as the battery cage method neither is it as less secured as the free range method. It is the mostly commonly  used poultry house though it has its own shortcomings. It leads to production of dirty and cracked eggs, low egg production since the birds roam about and expend most of the energy that could have been conserved for laying eggs. Another shortcoming of this method is that the fowls tend to protect its egg from pickers thereby making it difficult to pick. With N10000-20,000, one can   construct a deep litter poultry house depending on the size.

  • Battery Cage: This is the best and the most expensive poultry house that I have seen. It has many advantages to the previous methods. It increases egg production since movement of birds are restricted. It only eats, drinks and lay eggs. Also, there is no direct contact with birds and eggs, therefore dirtying and cracking of eggs is reduced. This also helps in reducing risk of infection and cost of medication since the birds are not directly in contact with faeces which could be harmful to the birds. Not just that, you can easily feed your birds without much wastage of feed using this method unlike the deep litter method. But despite how good this method is, it still has some shortcomings of which are the bad smell which the faeces produce, the cost and the health hazard on the farmer due to the bad smell. But despite this, it is the most effective poultry houIt cost about N70,000-N100,000 to get an imported battery cage depending on the housing capacity. It is advised you go for the one you can afford and manage.

Now, in addition to these, you will need other materials which are some bundles of roofing sheet(5 bundles for a pen housing 500 birds), Cement and sand/stone for flooring, net, planks and workmanship for the labourers. This may cost up to N70,000 depending on the size of your farm.
Poultry Equipment: Now you have successfully setup a housing for your birds, next is to purchase some equipment for your farm. Don't make the mistake of purchasing chicks before buying equipment as the birds will need this equipment on getting to the farm and you have no excuse else you start losing your birds on getting to the farm.
Now, what are the equipment needed for your farm:
  • feeders or feeding troughs
  • Drinkers
  • Perches
  • Egg Trays andCrates
  • Lightening system
  • Waste Disposal
  •  Egg Crates
  • Saw Dust
  • Incubators
  • Heaters or brooders
  • Nest
Now depending on the quantity of birds you are housing, these equipment may cost over N80,000.

Feeding And Day-Old-Chicks Or Point-of-Lay Birds: Feed is one vital need you will provide before  bringing in your birds. Day-old-chicks are newly hatched chicks while point-of-lay birds are birds between 20-22 weeks of age. They are likely to start laying at 27th  week. If you want to start with egg production, you can choose to bring in day-old-chicks or point-of-lay birds. Point-Of-lay birds are more expensive than day-old-chicks but the good thing about point-of-lay birds is that you don't loss much in the course of transportation. Even in the farm, you will lose more of the day-old-chicks than point-of-lay birds to outbreak of diseases, malnutrition, struggle for existance e.t.c. Also, you will need to feed the Day-old-chicks till they get to point of lay. Day-old-chicks cost between N170-N300 while point-of-lay birds cost between N750-N950. This prices vary from place to place so you are advised to carry out a thorough market survey before purchasing.  So, it all depends on your initial capital, but if you are a beginner, I will advice you start with point-of-lay birds because of the less risk involve.
Now, if you plan going into meat production(broilers rearing), you can start with the Day-old-chicks.

Vaccination: Now you are bringing your chicks or bird to a new environment, which they have not adapted to, there may be possibility of the presence of infectious pathogens in the environment, the question is how do you protect your birds from infections? I have seen a case where a farmer lost 200 birds to infection. This can be discouraging especially if you are a beginner. That's why I advice that immediately you bring your birds, the next line of action is to get vaccines. Vaccines are medication you give to your birds to get them immune from disease. It is important you give the vaccines as prescribed and you isolate any sick bird to avoid the spread of disease to other birds.

Documentation And Effective Management: Having setup your farm, is now time to get to work. You have to be taking record of every single activity that goes on the farm. This will enable you monitor you growth rate, make sure nothing goes missing and enables you to make good decisions.
You will need to keep record of:
  • Number of eggs laid in a day
  • Number of eggs sold
  • Number of eggs consumed
  • Number of eggs cracked or broken
  • Number of birds sold
  • Number of birds alive
  • Number of birds dead
  • Quantity of feed consumed
  • Expenses
All these above are supposed to be accounted for everyday.
You will also take record of the amount spent on worker(s), vaccines, maintenance and transportation at the end of the month.
By so doing, you will know if you are losing or gaining in the business.
You will also need to monitor your farm by yourself at the early stage. This will give you an idea of what is expected of the farm to avert the possibility of your workers taking advantage of your little experience in the business. So you stay to gain experience and can latter move on if you wish to.

Marketing: This is a crucial part of your business setup. If you make any mistake at this point, it will really tell on your business. So you should be careful at the kind of decisions you make at this point.
Remember, one of the secret of creating good customer relationship is to make your customers happy. Of course if you make them happy, they will always come to patronize you. Now, how do you make them happy? Join me in my next post on how to get customers and keep them coming.

Introduction Into Poultry Farming Business

Poultry farming business is one of the lucrative offline business you can run in Nigeria successfully. It involves the rearing and marketing of poultry produce and products. This produce are the birds(fowls), eggs and even their faeces while the products are the feed, poultry equipment and poultry housing materials.
Now, as I said earlier, this business is a very lucrative business. Why did I say so? This is because no matter the kind of work you do, there is always room for you in this business.
If you are a retiree, you can venture fully into this business to make extra money to add to your pension (that's if the government pays you anyway), if you are a graduate with no job, this is cool business for you as the startup capital is affordable. If you are an undergraduate and you are looking for ways to earn extra cash excluding the stipends your parents do give to you, then this is an opportunity. If you are an individual with no job nor educational qualification looking for how to make money, the door to this business is open for you.

Another reason this business is lucrative is the fact that you are dealing with food. Nigeria is a country made of a hungry population. People can't do without food and a country with about 170 million individuals, the  demand for food will  always be there. Remember, in business, the higher the demand, the lesser the supply and the higher the profit.

The third reason why it is lucrative to venture into this business is the rate at which fowls lay eggs. A properly fed bird will lay over 300 eggs in one year. If you have 400-500 birds, it means you will be producing 300-400 eggs per day. It takes about 21 days for the birds to hatch it's eggs, that means if you are into hatchery, you will be having new stock every 21 days, it takes the chick 12-20 weeks to mature for market. This also entails that every 3-5 months, you will have new stock of broilers for sale. Though, there is a way you can never run out of stock for new broilers. This we will be discussing in our subsequent post.

Having noted that this business is a lucrative business, we shall be taking a look at the various areas to invest in this business. There are many areas of investment in this business, but we will be looking into five areas.

Various Areas To Invest In Poultry Business
1. Broilers Breeding: This refers to the rearing of birds for the purpose of meat production. This birds depending on the weight can be sold for over N2500 to the final consumers. The birds can also be prepared and sold frozen in the market and stores. The last time I checked, a lap of chicken was sold at N300.
This is a profitable business as most people no longer consume red meat due to the health implication but rather choose to consume white meat and chicken is a good source of it.

2. Egg production: Do you know that medical doctors advice you take at least one egg in a day? Egg is a highly nutritious food rich in protein. This is why egg consumption is high. If you are very hungry and consume a cooked egg, it will be able to sustain you to a very reasonable extent.
Now back to business, egg is always in demand in the market. The demand has also increased especially now that there is a ban on the importation of poultry produce.
A crate of egg sells for N700-N750 in some market in Nigeria and even higher in some cases.
So if you can produce 300 eggs in a day, you will be making good amount of money before the month runs out.

3.Hatchery Business(Chick Production): Hatchery business is a very good poultry niche. Do you know that many people are going into poultry business everyday? Do you also know that if you want to move into broiler breeding or egg production, you need newly hatched chick to start with?
Well, new chicks is  very important in the poultry business. A chick sells between N170-N250 in some part of the country. So you can make enough money with this business.

4. Egg distribution and supply: Egg distribution involves buying eggs from poultry farm and supplying in wholesale quantity to retail outlets, restaurants, hawkers e.t.c. Now, one interesting thing about this business is that you don't need to own a farm to start making money to start making money from this niche. All you need is to get buyers and farmer(s) which is not difficult to get as your customers are always out there. Another challenge is the issue of transportation which can be resolved by making use of public transport at the beginning and can go ahead to get your supply van as your business grows.
Another interesting thing about this business is that you can start with as low as N50,000. That sound unbelievable, right? Watch out for my post on how to start a successful egg distribution in Nigeria and make money from it.

5. Poultry feed: This involves producing feeds for other poultry farmers. Poultry feeds are always in demand by poultry farmers and they will buy from you if your prize is good. You can choose to mix the feed by yourself if you know how to or buy already mixed ones and supplying to the farmers.

There are other areas which onecan invest in poultry business such as poultry equipment, housing among others.
Now, you may not need to invest in five areas at once, you may start with one or two and latter start with the other ones as your business grows.
Join me in my post where I will be exposing to you how you can setup your own poultry farm business

Common Mistakes You Should Avoid If You Want To Make Money

Money making is not an easy task. It is even more tasking to make if you want to go into business. There are many bridges to cross and many rules to break. You have to be appealing and tolerant to succeed in business. One must learn how to say sorry even when you are right in other to make money.
But despite the stress that usually accompanies money making, there is also the joy that follows when you made the money. There is the joy of a fulfilled life, the joy of been looked up to by people, the joy of making wise decisions, the joy of been respected and held at a high esteem by your workers and the public, the joy of going where you couldn't have gone without money, the joy of getting for yourself, family and friends what they want and also the joy of providing solution to people's problem.
So the joy you will reap tomorrow is far beyond the stress you will pass through in other to make money. So dear, you should bear the stress today to reap the benefits tomorrow.

Now, back to the post, there are many mistakes young people and newbies make when they venture into business. Many people think that money is the most important benefit  in business. This is a fat lie. Take for instance, a medical doctor have not done anything yet if his patient has not recovered back it's health. Despite the amount the doctor has taken, if the patient dies, then work done is equal to zero. This means that you are into business not to make money but to provide solution to people's problem in other words 'satisfy your customers'.

In today's post I will be taking my time to show you some mistake you might have made or may be making in business and how to avoid them.

1. Investing all your money into s business:
Many people are guilty of this mistake. This singular mistake can make you lose focus in business entirely. Why should you invest all your money into something you are not sure of the outcome.

You saw a business post on SureBizng and because of how attractive and enticing the profit is, you now decide to put in all your savings for the past 20 years into it, what if the business didn't favor you along the line?
Before investing into any business, make sure you have enough savings to back you up.

Savings will do three important for you:
* you can fall back on your savings if the business crumbles tomorrow
* savings can keep the business running if the business does not bring in the profit immediately
* savings can sustain you and your family till your business is stabilized(yielding steady income).

2. Not having a business plan:
Reading about a business and it's set up on SureBizng and going  ahead to start the business is not a good move at all.
This is because a business is just like a journey to an unknown destination and you need a map to guide you get to your destination. Therefore, the business plan is like a map that guides you to your destination. If you start your journey without a map, getting to your destination becomes a problem.

So before setting up your business, relax yourself and draft out your business plan, remember, where you will be tomorrow is dependent on where you envisioned yourself to be.

3. Money first before value:
Have you ever wondered why you come to this blog, read all the informative post without been asked to pay a dime? This is because we are trying to add value to your life.
I will be more happier if you will call me tomorrow to tell me that you set up a business you saw on this blog and you never regretted than  paying for it without utilizing it. It makes me feel like I have cheated you. If the business goes on so well tomorrow, you will never forget this blog. This means that we have added value into your life.

Wealth is a result of consistently providing solution to the problems of humanity. Take for instance, in Nigeria we are about 170 million, if you can provide a solution to the pressing need of just 5 million at a marginal profit of N50 each, check how much will be your total profit.
So, to make money in Nigeria, just identify one out of the numerous problems of Nigerians and provide solution to it at a cheap rate.
Take this blog as an example, the unemployment rate is quite alarming, I decided to create a blog that will teach people how to make money. I don't know if you follow me!

4. Low knowledge about your business:
Not having a good knowledge. Of a business before delving into it can ruin your business faster than you thought. You needed to acquainted with the challenges in your business sector, the effects of government policies and technology on your business. You also need to know who your customers are, how they can be served better. who are your competitors, what can you do that they are not. These amongst others are things you need to know before you venture into a business.

Now, you may know how to blog, trade on forex, import goods into the country and freelance, you then decided to venture into this four business at once in other to hit it big, you know what, I laugh you. I'm sorry for sounding rude(if that's how you see it).
The truth is that business expansion and diversification is a gradual process. Instead of hitting it big, you will end up wasting your resources. Yes, you will waste both financial resources and human resources. You can only escape if you already have good knowledge of the businesses. Even at that, it is still advisable you start with one of them, stabilize it and move on to the next one not just jumping into them.

Remember, instead of been a Jack of all trade and master of none, it is better to become a Jack of few trades and master of some

6. Inability to create good customer relationship:
There is no business that booms without a customer. Customer may be your client, patient or visitor. They are the ones that patronize you. They give you money in exchange of a product or service. Due to the level of competition in the business sector, it is important you establish a good customer relationship even with a first timer. If you don't, you lose that person to a competitor.
The secret of keeping a customer is by making that customer happy.

7. Fear of failure
I know it may be difficult to invest that amount of yours into something you are not sure of the outcome, but let me ask you a question, if you don't invest that money and keep it to yourself, will that solve your problem?

For you to be successful in business, you need to do away with FEAR. The greater risk you take, the more successful and experience you become.
Remember, no pain no gain.

Others include:
Lack of vision: If you are starting a business or have started already without vision, then you don't have a business destination.

Poor money management: If you are spending more than you earn, you are not a business man.

Not taking good advice and inability to make wise decisions. I wonder how you can succeed in business if you neither take good advice nor make wise decisions.

Join me in my next post where I will be showing you how you can make cool cash in an offline. Let's go there.
